VivierSonoma Coast Rosé 2021- Special Priced 3-Pack
We’re excited to offer this refreshing once again, crisp & bright Sonoma Coast Rosé from Vivier. This 2021 comes from three Pinot Noir vineyards in the Petaluma Gap region of the Sonoma Coast AVA and Sonoma Mountain: Flocchini, Gap’s Crown and Van der Kamp Vineyards. The grapes were harvested at night for maximum freshness and were sorted in both the vineyards and at the winery. After contact with the Pinot Noir skin for about 45-60 minutes, Stéphane moved the juice to a stainless-steel tank to settle and age. The 2021 vintage has a light pink color and retains freshness and vibrancy. This wine is made using saignée, which is traditional in Burgundy for Rosé. The aromas are bright, precise, and pure with a stony minerality, lime and peach notes. The palate is medium bodied, fresh, and crisp with attractive red fruit and the same purity as the nose. It is a wine of charm and balance, showing enough complexity for casual outside cooking and lightness for everyday drinking. Well measured, it has a pure accent from start to finish, shows focus and plenty of persistence. 85 cases were produced.
While you might not have heard of Stéphane Vivier, you have probably heard of Aubert de Villaine, owner of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti aka DRC, one of the most sought-after Burgundy producers in the world. Working side-by-side at HdV Winery, which is owned by relatives Larry Hyde (of Hyde Vineyards) and Aubert, Stéphane oversaw the winemaking efforts for this Napa Valley winery and it’s here where I first met Stéphane and later, Aubert de Villaine. 77 cases were produced.
