typicité‘Tondre Grapefield’ Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir 2019- Special Priced 3-Pack
We love a great surprise when tasting wine. And this is one of those times when we were blown away by this new wine brand. It is part of the larger portfolio of owner and winemaker, Craig Ploof’s winery, Grape Culture. You’ll hear us talk more about this project in the coming weeks but for now, we’re excited to offer their newest Pinot Noir release. Tucked in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands between the famed Gary Pisoni’s Gary’s Vineyard and Rosella’s Vineyard is Tondre Grapefield, a grower vineyard that is the star in this offering. As Craig explains, “On the first bluff coming off the valley floor, this benchland vineyard has it all. A diverse set of clones is planted on the ranch taking advantage of the topography. Above the valley floor, but below the super high elevation sites of SLH, Tondre has the ability to produce ripe fruit flavors while maintaining vibrant acidity.” This 2019 is juicy, fleshy and bursts with notes of brambly fruit with subtle earthiness and a long, satisfying finish. 100 cases were produced.
