StrakaNapa Valley Viognier 2017
We probably wouldn’t put such an emphasis on a $37 Viognier unless it was that great and also produced by the mother/daughter team of Francoise Peschon (winemaker at VHR, Accendo Cellars, Cornell and Drinkward Peschon) and Isabelle Straka, who also happens to be a part of the K. LAZ wine team family in addition to recently receiving her Masters at UC Davis for enology and viticulture. So, combine these factors and we have ourselves the best new Viognier to come out of California that is vibrant and delicious. Their grapes were harvested by hand on August 29th, 2017 and fermented in stainless steel and neutral French oak. Notes of jasmine blossom, stone fruit and tangerine jump from the glass with bright acidity and focus. With a mere 65 cases produced, we're happy we were able to get our hands on this great-buy White.
