Spottswoode'Lyndenhurst' Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

The outstanding 2018 vintage shines through with this newest release of Spottswoode ‘Lydenhurst’ Cabernet Sauvignon. Their red grapes were able to ripen gradually, developing rich color without a rapid accumulation of sugar. When harvest finally began at the end of September, the quality and dynamic character of the grapes resulted in seamless fermentations and extraordinarily aromatic and energetic wines. This 2018 offers generous notes of raw fresh blackberries, crushed graphite, cassis, baking spices, and cocoa powder. Fine tannins provide savory structure, while floral notes of violets and laurel fill the glass. Winemaker Aron Weinkauf blended this Cabernet from the Spottswoode estate vineyards along with longtime grower vineyard partners throughout Napa Valley.
