Roy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Reminiscent of 2013, graceful and ready in its youth, yet with the strength and power to lie down for many years to come, the 2019 vintage is apparent in this bottling. Another layer presents itself each time you return to the glass. Sourced from the uppermost sloped portions of the vineyard rooted in volcanic soils, the grapes produce a wine that is muscular, sanguine, and slightly herbal. Tannins, while undeniably present, are well-integrated and remarkably soft.

Roy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2015- Library Release
Muscular, but with no shortage of ripe intense blackberry, the 2015 Roy Cabernet Sauvignon has plenty of juicy dark fruit to complement the intensity of its structure. There is both impressive boldness and balance here. While tasty straight from the bottle, the wine will have some of its more subtle hallmarks, like tobacco box and chocolate, coaxed out more quickly with a decant.

Roy Estate ‘Mr. Evans’ Red 2019
From what will surely go down historically as a classic vintage, the 2019 Mr. Evans displays true elegance, assisted by its 24% of supple Merlot and 11% Petit Verdot. The grapes from Mr. Evans are sourced from the alluvial and silt soils in the lower portion of the sloped vineyard, lending acidity and freshness. The signature Mr. Evans style is a relatively perfect coupling with the slow start and idyllic conditions of the 2019 growing season.

A Cabernet-based wine with an embrace of elegance, 2015 Mr. Evans displays the satisfying tension of remarkable freshness with the refinement that time provides. “Lush and rich from the outset, this layered wine possesses a refined and sophisticated mouthfeel and reveals notes of blackberry, chocolate-covered cherry, black currant, and a touch of pine resin,” says winemaker Philippe Melka.

Originally established in 1999 by vintners Shirley and Charles Roy, the vineyard was planted with the help of Helen Turley. Present owners Stephany Maillery and Stephan Crétier spared no expense in expanding the footprint of the vines and reenlisting the acclaimed Philippe Melka as winemaker.
