With this vintage, winemaker and co-vintner, Thomas Rivers-Brown aimed to produce a wine that showed power, depth, grace and accessibility. In the glass, the wine displays aromatic notes of dark blue fruit, blackcurrant and cocoa powder. The tasting experience is where this wine really shines with notes of kirsch liqueur, cedar and currant gliding onto the palate and lingering through to the finish. This 2014 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has just begun to show its potential and can be enjoyed now or within the next 6-8 years. It's comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and 774 cases were produced. This 3-Pack with Special Pricing is a great offering.

Mending Wall is the culmination of Thomas Rivers Brown and his decades of winemaking efforts at Outpost, owned by Frank Dotzler and Pulido-Walker, owned by Mark Pulido and Donna Walker. Together, they formed Mending Wall, located on the eastern side of Silverado Trail between St. Helena and Calistoga. Here, Thomas produces wines for his numerous clients and he also produces its namesake wines. While I have tried many vintages of their offerings since their debut in 2013, I have always found their Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon to be the best and most worthy of buying.
