100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this 2014 made by winemaker Sam Kaplan was just released to us. Like in previous vintages, Sam is able to source from three exceptional grower vineyard sites including Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard, Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard and Weitz Vineyard in the Oakville east bench and one of my favorite vineyards for Cabernet. Since none of these growers make their own wines from these vineyards, this is a great representation of the best potential of these vineyards combined into one bottling. "The 2014 welcomes you with voracious aromas of spice bread and meat followed by viscous drops of bright cherry compote. Fleshy tannins pierce through the gravity of the middle palate and the finish reveals the subtleties of sage and thyme that render this wine timeless. Drink now with proper decanting or cellar for 20 years+."
