Matt Morris‘Tofanelli Vineyard’ Charbono 2017- Special Priced 3-Pack

Matt Morris Wines is brought to us from local famed photographer and video producer Matt Morris and Vinous winemaker of the year, Francoise Peschon. Most know of Francoise through her winemaking efforts at VHR-Vine Hill Ranch, Heimark, Cornell and Drinkward Peschon but this smaller project is unique because it is all about Charbono and more importantly, Charbono being produced with the same attention to detail and expertise as the Cabernet Sauvignons Francoise is most known for producing. Fifty-two acres of Charbono is planted in Napa Valley today, with a mere twenty-seven acres planted in other regions of California. In contrast, there are about 18,000 acres currently planted to Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley and that number is obviously growing. This 2017 Charbono comes from Tofanelli Vineyard in Calistoga and offers immediate aromas of “raspberry jam, mint, white pepper, licorice, spice and gravel that are all beautifully lifted. Deep, powerful, and so expressive, the 2017 is flat-out superb. Time in the glass is absolutely essential to allow the breadth of the wine’s energy to reveal itself.
