While they’ve been selling most of their fruit to long-time winery partners for the last 40+ years, since 1998, they’ve been keeping a few of their favorite blocks for themselves to produce their own flagship wine. This is a benchmark offering for this special winery and estate vineyard that rests between 700 to 1100 feet in elevation so Cabernet Sauvignon takes it time growing up there which is a good thing. In 2012, the fruit was able to ripen at a leisurely rate and in the glass, it showcases quintessential Spring Mountain fruit with enhanced concentration and richness thanks to the phenomenal growing season. This new offering is a great example of the strengths of this AVA. Winemaker Marbue Marke has been producing this Estate Cabernet since 2010 and truly lets the land and grapes be the star player.
