Like the 2012 vintage, this offering is made by winemaker John Kongsgaard (of Kongsgaard Winery) and his son, Alex, and what an incredible wine it is! This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Christina Luscher and her husband, Carrol Ballard’s 15-acre vineyard at 2000 feet atop Spring Mountain where Sonoma meets Napa Valley. The reason for this beautifully lush wine out of the bottle is because the wine is aged in French oak for 22 months and stays in bottle for two years before it is released. “Denser, richer, treated the same way as the 2012, but more extracted in stature is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon from Spring Mountain. The wine has a dense purple color, good, sweet blueberry and black raspberry fruit, medium to full body, impressive texture, and sweet tannin. The finish is long and impressive. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.” – Wine Advocate.
