Gandona Encosta Cabernet Sauvignon 2012Napa Valley

Gandona Encosta produced one of the best 2011 vintage Cabs and their 2012 is stylistically like the 2011 but with more layers and complexity. This is a full-bodied, richly layered Cabernet coming from their estate vineyard. Comprised of Cabernet with 8% Cab Franc and 4%Merlot, this newly released 2012 offers rich notes of black briary fruit and raspberry with a touch of oak on the finish. The freshness of this wine comes from the younger vines that have now matured and showcase clean, lush fruit. Philippe Melka has been overseeing their winemaking since their inception and loves the fruit coming off of this Pritchard Hill property.
