FaviaOakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2018- Special Priced 3-Pack
Many know of Andy Erickson's efforts from his previous winemaking efforts at Dalla Valle, Screaming Eagle, OVID, and Staglin but his wife Annie Favia is also a major Napa Valley talent as a viticulturist. Gaining her tenured experience working with David Abreu, they now produce outstanding wines together for their own winery, Favia. Like in previous vintages, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Oakville Ranch Vineyard, a well-known grower vineyard perched just below Pritchard Hill, and north of Dalla Valle. It offers a multitude of different aspects and perspectives resulting in what seems like more microclimates from one vineyard site than the entire AVA. Phil Coturri continues to tend the vines as their vineyard manager. For this 2018, Andy aged the wine for 22 months in French oak to produce a wine with intensity and finesse. “The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is a broad, expansive wine with textbook notes of crème de cassis, tobacco leaf, Asian spices, loamy soil, camphor, and chocolate. Offering full-bodied richness, a beautiful weightlessness on the palate, and building tannins, this is another gorgeous, seamless, singular wine from this estate that will benefit from short-term cellaring and evolve for 20-25 years or more.” 97+ Points, Jeb Dunnuck.
