"Looking back on the 2018 growing season, it was not just “easy” to farm but also very rewarding intellectually in our pursuit of excellence. Conditions were optimal throughout the year with no excessive pressure from the climate, bestowing upon us the gift of time and a vintage of extraordinary quality. This slow pace was a perfect occasion to progress in our discovery of the nuances of each vineyard component and work with even more precision during the élevage. This led to a beautifully complex expression of the terroir.” The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is defined by freshness, energy, and refinement, with a delineated structure of remarkable elegance. The growing season clearly magnified the natural attributes of the Eisele Vineyard fruit, producing an outstanding vintage that will age gracefully for the next 50 years. “The very deep, purple-black colored 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. It takes a fair amount of swirling to unlock an incredibly intense nose of dark chocolate, warm cassis, baked plums, and Morello cherries plus touches of red roses, violets, pencil shavings, cinnamon stick, and dusty soil with a hint of iron ore. The full-bodied palate is so exquisitely elegant, charged with electric black and red fruits and a firm frame of super-ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing very long and very perfumed.
