Colgin 'Tychson Hill Vineyard' Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 - Special Priced 3-Pack - K. Laz Wine Collection
The vineyard was originally planted in 1881 by Josephine Tychson, the first female vintner in Napa Valley. Though the vines were removed during prohibition and the land broken up into adjoining lots, Ann Colgin has been restoring the original holdings since 1997. The property consists of approximately four acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, with several vine rows of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The signature terroir features a rocky east-facing slope containing some of the rarest volcanic soil in Napa Valley, known as Aiken Very Stony Loam, which imparts distinctive floral, earthy, ethereal notes to a wine exemplary of Colgin Cellars’ offerings. 100 Points, Wine Advocate.

Colgin Cellars will be celebrating their 28th year of harvest this fall, with 1992 marking vintners Ann Colgin and Joe Wenders’ debut vintage. For the first few vintages, they sourced fruit from Herb Lamb Vineyard and David Abreu’s estate vineyards until her vineyard sites were ready to bear fruit that was mature enough to go be bottled. 2000 was the first vintage of Colgin’s own vineyard Cabernet and in 2002, their own winery was completed. Winemaker Allison Tauziet has been working at Colgin since 2005 and leads the production team. Since their first vintage in 1992, Colgin has evolved to become one of the most sought-after producers in Napa Valley.
