This 2014 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir was made by Russell Bevan and comes from Sun Chase Vineyard, a well-regarded vineyard for sourcing Pinot Noir. Sun Chase is located on the western slope of Sonoma Mountain in the Petaluma Gap at 1200 to 1400 feet elevation above the fog line. There, the grapes benefit from the cool maritime influence in the morning, resulting in a Pinot Noir with ripeness and also natural acidity. In classic Russell Bevan-style, this 2014 is a lush, concentrated Pinot Noir offering deep red and black cherry fruit with underlying flavors of spice box and cedar notes.
