BarbourCabernet Sauvignon 2018- Special Priced 3-Pack
While many know of Jim Barbour as one of the best viticulturists in Napa Valley, it was his own wine that connected us when I first moved to wine country. Jim cultivated many prominent vineyards in the valley, including Hundred Acre, Grace Family, Checkerboard, Blankiet, Revana, Harbison, Keever, DR Stephens, and his estate vineyard on the western side of St. Helena. Produced by winemaker Celia Welch, this new release is gorgeous, like in past vintages. It reminds me of their 2016 vintage. Harvested by hand on September 17th, this 100% Cabernet is entirely comprised of Clone 7. “The 2018 vintage of Barbour cabernet sauvignon has aromas of gooey blackberry pie, sweet cocoa, black currant, and plum. These combine with dark cherry, black tea, nutmeg, and brown earth on the palate. The tannins are typically Barbour and are chewy and present, yet approachable. Dark fruit flavors dominate the lengthy finish.” 349 cases were produced.
