Even though Steltzner Winery sold their front 50 acres and winery to the Plumpjack Group which is now Odette in Stags Leap District, they kept the back 20 acres that is tucked in the Stags Leap Palisades bench. Which new farming practices thanks to Jim Barbour and his team, this 2012 offering comes from a 3-acre block within their estate vineyard called Pool Block. It is their best part of the vineyard and this is the best Cabernet they’ve produced so far. On the heels of an almost perfect growing season, this 2012 offers richness with signatures notes of dark fruits and anise with deep complexity on the palate. A big rich mouthful paired with refined and balanced tannins, this beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon is sure to please a wide variety of palates.
