Spottswoode 'Lyndenhurst' Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Spottswoode Lyndenhurst continues to be a perennial favorite of all the wineries that are producing sister labels or more approachable Cabernets in their portfolio. This 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet is predominately comprised of Spottswoode Estate fruit from their west St. Helena vineyard along with fruit that once again is coming from Knights Bridge Vineyard, Oakville Ranch, Darms Lane and Young Inglewood Vineyard. The newly released 2015 offers a “lifted nose filled with baking spices reminiscent of a delicious, warm strawberry-blackberry-rhubarb pie. Notes of vanilla, butter crust, nutmeg, and a hint of clove. The palate is very approachable, luscious and pretty, the mouthwatering acidity gives length, and playful, chalky tannins provide structure. Rich, round and mouthcoating, with a nuanced core of vibrant red and black fruits (cherries, red currants, plum, mulberry) and a hint of cedar. A ripe, vibrant and textural wine with a softness that invites early drinking.”
