We tasted the debut offerings of Senses a few years ago and while we liked their story (3 friends deeply connected to Sonoma including one of the guys being second generation growers/owners of the famed Theriot Vineyard), we weren't wowed by their wine. Now, three vintages later they’ve gotten more serious and brought on winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown to help them produce first-class Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Thomas is most known for his Cabernet winemaking but truly loves Sonoma Coast and makes great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for Maybach now as well as making his own Rivers Marie Wines. We really enjoyed this Sonoma Coast Chardonnay from the Senses team. “Balanced fruit and acidity define this wine: think floral, tropical and citrus notes. On the palate, approachable passion fruit flavors is followed by hints of green apple and rounded by a vanilla spice. Bright mineral notes and quince linger on the finish and the entire wine is elegantly smooth.”
