The Paring Red 2012Santa Barbara County

Matt Dees, winemaker for Jonata and The Hilt, makes wines far more expensive than The Paring, which is why we love this wine so much because he produces it with the same care and attention to detail as his other wines. For under $30 per bottle, there is no Red you will find of this caliber at this price. The Paring comes to us thanks to Stan Kroenke, owner of Screaming Eagle, Jonata and The Hilt and is from Santa Barbara County. It is comprised of about 50% Cabernet Sauvignon with the remainder being Merlot, Cab Franc and Petit Verdot. It offers rich, black fruit with baking spice and a touch of sweet cedar. It is full-bodied with rich tannins.
