This 2014 Experiment from Ovid is Cabernet Sauvignon and comes from their neighbor's vineyard. It is a "classic Napa Cabernet with plenty of red rocky character and evolution still to come. Lush and expansive with a sweet dark core, it offers notes of red tobacco, mulberry, kola nut, pomegranate, rhubarb and wet stone. Ovid is committed to the idea and practice of experimentation in many facets of grape growing and winemaking, in order to learn more about their land and what will make the very best wine.  They conduct formal experiments in order to investigate specific topics and participate in a number of applied studies as well.  And they sometimes just indulge their curiosity by trying things several ways, in order to push what they know to be possible in both the vineyard and the winery. Experiment wines are a product of this process.  Each vintage they offer small amounts of different wines that are of special interest to us, allowing us to taste and experience new aspects of Ovid's vineyard and winemaking." 12 bottles are available.
