Massican'Annia' White 2018

This is the perfect summer wine! Dan Petroski, winemaker of Larkmead, also owns Massican and through this label, is making some of the most exciting Whites utilizing French and Italian varietals, sometimes alone and in this case combined. This 2018 Annia is a crisp blend of Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and a touch of Chardonnay which all come from Napa Valley. The wines are fermented independently in French oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks, where they rest until winter. The two Italian varieties in the wine build the aroma and ?avor pro?le while the Chardonnay adds to the wine’s structure. Melon and peach blossom jump out of the glass and they are balanced by some green apple and pear aromas. The acidity builds up to the long crisp finish. This 2018 is fresh, subtle and is one of the most unique amongst the whites of California.
