Tucked away into Simmons Canyon in the heart of the Calistoga AVA, Kelly Fleming Winery extends across a 300-acre property at the base of the palisades. With only 12 planted acres, exceptional attention to detail is offered both in the vineyards and in the cellar of this cult Napa Valley producer. Vineyard manager Mike Wolf (recipient of the 2015 Napa Valley Grower of the Year award) offers more than 30 years of experiences to the Kelly Fleming Winery, developing and managing other high quality Napa Valley vineyards including Scarecrow, Vine Hill Ranch and Lindstrom. Picture perfect growing conditions during the 2013 season provided even ripening and steady flavor development. Winemaker Rebecca George has done an exceptional job with the 2013 vintage that offers endearing aromas of ripe cherries, sweet cinnamon spice and wild bay laurel with a broad, round and supple texture. A streak of acidity on the mid-palate provides structure to the expansive entry and ensures longevity of the wine for years to come. This estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in 82% new French Oak for 20 months resulting in a well-balanced and elegant wine.
