Crossroads Sauvignon Blanc 2017 – 750ml
This is a delicious Sauvignon Blanc with great balance and a mouth-watering palate appeal for those that love a great SB. Coming from their estate vineyard on Mount Veeder at 1600 feet in elevation, you will find an immediate nose of stone fruit and citrus zest that leads onto the palate with secondary notes of minerality and balanced acidity. There’s complexity to this wine as well as a crowd-pleaser taste. Winemaker Frederick Ammons and his team produced this wine in 49% concrete egg, neutral and new French oak as well as stainless steel. In the glass, that means a vibrant, multi-faceted White that can be enjoyed now or even with a few years of age. 372 cases were produced.
You might remember that Rudd Estate used to make a second wine that was incredible for the price point and pedigree. For a few years they didn’t produce it but since Sam Rudd has taken the helm in the past few years, I’m excited for these wines to be in production once again. Comprised of fruit from their estate vineyards in Oakville and on Mount Veeder in Napa Valley, these are some serious wines with a price point that is truly a bargain compared to the quality of wine in the bottle. I would highly recommend trying some as I think you will love them as much as I did when I tasted them at the winery. I suspect these wines will sell out quickly due to their small production but more importantly, their high quality. These will be offered to restaurants throughout the country in the coming months so please let me know what you are interested in getting so we can ensure you get to try some.
